Alternative punchline: “Because it’s a webcomic” Badum cha!
So I know nobody’s going to read this at the time of posting but it’s my hope that one day this little site will be a bit more busy then it currently is and I’ll have an interested reader or two who decides to look at my very first blog post. To you I say, how do you do?
I’m doing just fine, thanks. I’m enjoying the fine hobby of cartooning with that distinct glimmer of hope in the back of my mind that one day I could be doing this for a living. Of course, the world can only have so many Scott Kurtz’s and in case the profession of cartooning doesn’t work out I can always fall back on being a molecular biologist. Seriously, I’m working towards my bachelor’s degree in Biology and it’s no picnic. That’s kind of why I’m posting here. I’ve always loved developing stories and characters to act within them (though I haven’t always been able to draw them >.> ). This blend of writing and drawing is the perfect outlet for creativity that cold hard science leaves you wanting. Of course I love cold hard science too (I’m not using the college money to party MOM) and I have to be realistic.
So allow me to have a conversation with myself about an update schedule.
Me: Oh man, let’s do it 7 days a week!
Me: We’ll be kicked out by next semester if we do.
Me: 5 days a week?
Me: I thought you wanted to go to graduate school?
Me: 4 days a week?
Me: You have to write a senior thesis in two years. Better get on that.
Me: 2?
Me: Sounds good. But we can bump that number up during vacations and such.
So there ya go. I won’t post any strips next week to build up my buffer a little. Then the week after that I’ll start posting on Monday and Friday. On vacations you can be rest assured that I’ll bump that number up (a lot). Sound good?
Oh, by the way, how did net neutrality world out? There’s going to be a major decision on it April 18th.
